Dec. 21, 2012. Merry Christmas from the guys at High Country Press! The three of us, (from left) Managing Editor Paul T. Choate, Editor-in-Chief Ken Ketchie and Staff Reporter Jesse Wood, want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season and also thank you for your continued support. We wouldn’t be able to make HCPress.com happen without you — our readers.
We take great pride in what the three of us, along with the help of other writers, designers, sales and support staff along the way, have been able to accomplish since reinventing the High Country Press brand as a daily online news source on Feb. 29, 2012.
As with most things, it started a little slow as people were still finding about about our new website, but we can now look back and see steady improvement each month since starting out.
Since going live on the web, High Country Press has published over 3,400 stories. Our website has been visited more than more than 550,000 times and received over 1.3 million pageviews.
After starting out with only around 4,000 visits per week back in early March, we are proud to say that we now have anywhere from 20,000 to 25,000 or more visits per week. We also celebrated a record-breaking month in November, when we recorded 87,914 visits.
Again, none of this would have been possible without all of you, our readers, continuing to utilize us as your daily news source for everything happening in Watauga and Avery counties. Thank you all so much and happy holidays!
