Blue Ridge Conservancy Benefit June 4 at Camp Sky Ranch

May 22, 2014. Blue Ridge Conservancy (BRC) will host its 13th annual Wine/Beer Tasting & Auction on Wednesday, June 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Camp Sky Ranch.

This year’s Blue Ridge Conservancy Wine/Beer Tasting & Auction celebrates local businesses and the community. Several local breweries and wineries will provide tastings including Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Blowing Rock Brewing, Boondocks Brewing, Blind Squirrel, Grandfather Vineyard & Winery, Linville Falls Winery and many others.

In keeping with a nearly 13-year tradition, owners Ken and Wendy Gordon of The Gamekeeper will once again prepare creative and original Southern food partly donated by New River Organic Growers.

“We invite everyone in the community to come out and enjoy an evening of  great food and drink provided by local businesses to help support Blue Ridge Conservancy’s mission to protect our North Carolina resources,” said Walter Clark, executive director of BRC.

A silent and live auction and will feature local prizes donated from our community sponsors. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on local art, pottery, vacation packages, and many other items. Music will be provided by local favorites Mountain Radio. All proceeds from the event will benefit BRC and its mission to permanently protect land and water resources with agricultural, ecological, cultural, recreational and scenic value in northwest North Carolina.

Individual tickets are $30 each or $25 each for two or more.

Blue Ridge Conservancy is a private, non-profit, non-governmental organization incorporated in North Carolina. Since our founding, we have protected close to 18,000 acres in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey Counties.  In addition to protecting working farmland, BRC’s efforts have resulted in the creation of state natural areas like Beech Creek Bog, Bear Paw and Bullhead Mountain. We continue to help Elk Knob State park expand its borders and in 2008 we led the way in establishing a 2,400-acre State Game Land preserve on Pond Mountain in Ashe County.
