April 9, 2014. After 30 years of quality entertainment, An Appalachian Summer Festival will celebrate its diamond anniversary this year with an awesome lineup of concerts, shows, showcases and exhibitions to delight visitors and residents of the High Country once again.

imgres“Thirty years ago this started as a small chamber music festival that took place throughout the month of July, and it has just grown immensely into this multidisciplinary arts festival over the past 30 years,” said Megan Stage, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for the festival.

“It is pretty impressive for any kind of arts festival to last 30 years, but for this festival that has so much diversity and is an entire month long to last this long, that is extremely rare and so special.”

Three decades after its inception, An Appalachian Summer Festival has still got it, this year featuring exciting headlining acts like Little Big Town, Sheryl Crow, the annual Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Walk and much, much more.

“We strive every year to make the festival even better, we always want to outdo the year before,” Stage said.

“This year, we tried to do a great mix of honoring our past, doing things that honor what we have brought throughout the years. The Broyhill Chamber Orchestra is what this festival was founded on, and we have some staples that we continue to do every year. But at the same time, we continue to book artists that run with the excitement of this milestone year. This is a dynamic lineup for sure.”
