‘Inn on Cornish’ Proposed for Blowing Rock


Oct. 30, 2017. The Winkler Organization is planning a “boutique” hotel development at the corner of Main Street and Cornish Road in Blowing Rock. The project is called the “Inn on Cornish. Blowing Rock Planning Director Kevin Rothrock said a neighborhood meeting was held recently for members of the public, planning board and council members to learn about the project and offer feedback. The Waterfront Group, owner of The Lodges at Eagles Nest, is celebrating the grand opening of the Eagles Nest Marketplace, formerly known as the Sunrise Shopping Center, on Oct. 20 from 3 to 7 p.m. The Eagles Nest Marketplace is located at the base of Beech Mountain Parkway, just on the outskirts of downtown Banner Elk. High Country Association of Realtors: 2017 Home Sales Outpacing 2016 Rate


Aug. 1, 2017. Midway through 2017 local real estate sales are slightly ahead of last year’s pace, according to the latest report by the High Country Association of Realtors. The summer selling season hasn’t been as frantic as last year, but inventory is expanding. New sellers continue to enter the market, reflecting a national survey which shows strong sentiment that now is a good time to sell. Meanwhile, interest rates after declining from a sharp increase a few weeks ago.
