The Watauga County Republican Party will hold its county convention on Saturday, March 5, at the Watauga County Courthouse in downtown Boone to hear from candidates and adopt resolutions.
“We would love for all registered Republicans to come,” Watauga County GOP Chair Anne-Marie Yates said. “We’ll be conducting business, preparing for the district convention and then the state convention.”
Yates said that pretty much all the GOP candidates with primary races have been invited to speak to local Republicans at the convention, and that a few candidates have prepared video pitches to show to those in attendance at the convention.
5th District Chair Dan Barrett will moderate the convention.
Below is the schedule of events:
- 8:30 to 9 a.m. – Registration
- 9 to 10 a.m. – Precinct Meetings
- 10 to 12 a.m. – Convention
