Watauga County GOP Holds Two Events This Weekend, BBQ Dinner Friday, Caravan Tour Saturday

Sept. 25, 2014. With early voting only a month away, the Watauga County Republican Party will hold two events this weekend.

On Friday, Sept. 26, members of the community are invited to “come meet our candidates” at the annual barbecue dinner at the Boone Golf Club at 433 Fairway Drive. The event starts at 6 p.m. and costs $20 per person.

In addition, a local GOP caravan will travel to 11 locations across the county to meet Republican candidates. Folks can travel with the caravan or stop at select locations at certain times.

  • Blue Ridge Diner in Deep Gap for breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m.
  • Wildcat Road; Stony Fork and Jim’s Produce in Deep Gap
  • Todd General Store from 10:45 to 11 a.m.
  • Allen Trivette’s 194 Tire from 11:20 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
  • Deep Gap Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m.
  • Thompson’s Seafood in Deep Gap from 1:15 to 1:30 p.m.
  • J&M Produce on U.S. 321 from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
  • Food Lion from 2:45 to 3 p.m.
  • Grandfather General Store on U.S. 221 at 3:15 p.m.
