“Sadie’s extensive knowledge of North Carolina and its media landscape have made her a tremendous asset to my office and my work representing our great state,” said Hagan. “I am thrilled to welcome Lindsay to our team, and I know that her deep understanding of North Carolina will help expand and enhance my office’s outreach efforts from Murphy to Manteo. In their roles, Sadie and Lindsay will build on our efforts to make my office as open, transparent and responsive as possible to the people of North Carolina.”

After serving on Hagan’s 2008 campaign communications team, Weiner was hired to serve as Deputy Press Secretary for Hagan’s Senate office. She has also served as Press Secretary and Deputy Communications Director for Hagan’s office. In 2010, Weiner spent several months supporting Senator Patty Murray’s re-election campaign as the Communications Director at the Washington State Democratic Party. In 2012, Weiner also spent time in Ohio as Press Secretary for Senator Sherrod Brown’s reelection campaign. Prior to working on Hagan’s 2008 campaign, she was a fellow at Public Strategies, Inc., now Hill + Knowlton Strategies.

“I am truly honored to serve the people of North Carolina in this new role and to continue my work with Senator Hagan and this entire staff,” said Weiner. “Senator Hagan has led by example through her tireless commitment to bipartisan, commonsense priorities and her nonstop advocacy for North Carolina, and I am proud to be supporting her work.”

Siler comes with more than 7 years of experience in NorthCarolina politics. While beginning her career in North Carolina serving as the Director of Public Policy for Planned Parenthood Health Systems, Siler mostrecently served as the North Carolina State Director for President Obama’s re-election campaign. Prior to the election season, Siler served in the same role for Organizing for America. She is credited with building what Jim Messina,President Obama’s national campaign manager, called “the best field operation in the country.”

“I am delighted to be joining Senator Hagan’s staff in North Carolina,” said Siler. “Throughout her time in public service Senator Hagan has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to fighting for North Carolina’s best interests, and I look forward to helping her as she continues working to make North Carolina’s future even brighter.”

Weiner will be based in Hagan’s Washington, DC office and Siler will be based in Raleigh.
