State BOE Releases Sample Election Ballots, See Watauga’s

Sept. 18, 2014. State Board of Elections has released the ballots for counties across the state for the General Election on Nov. 4.

Watauga County ballots feature several contested races on the federal, state and local level. See ballots below. Note that the Blowing Rock residents will see a slightly different ballot than their Watauga County brethren. Blowing Rock voters will have the opportunity to vote on four infrastructure improvements that total $13 million.

The last day to register to vote in the general election is Friday, Oct. 10 by 5 p.m.

Also, the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a “Meet the Candidates” forum for Oct. 21 in the large courtroom of the Watauga County Courthouse, which is located in downtown Boone. Members of the public are encouraged to submit written questions to the candidates during the event.

  • Thursday, Oct. 23, at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 24, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 27 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 28 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 29 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 30 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 31 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 1 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
