See Latest Early Voting Totals in Avery, Watauga

Through the first week of early voting in the 2017 municipal elections, 453 people in Watauga County and 44 people in Avery County have cast ballots at the one-stop polls, according to local elections officials. Early voting ends on Saturday, Nov. 4.

In Avery County, the sole one-stop site for the municipals is the elections office in the Avery County Courthouse. Watauga County, on the other hand, has two one-stop sites: the elections office in the Watauga County Courthouse and the Plemmons Student Union on the App State campus.

So far has of Monday afternoon, 229 people have voted at the early voting site on the college campus and 224 people have voted in the elections office. The site at the Watauga County Board of Elections office opened on Oct. 19 compared to site on App State, which opened on Oct. 26.

See the remaining early voting hours and note that the ASU polling site closes at the end of the workday on Nov. 3, while the other sites are open until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 30-31 and Nov 1-3. The last day on Saturday, Nov. 4 features hours from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Plemmons Student Union at App State

Blue Ridge Ballroom in App State’s Plemmons Student Union from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 to Nov. 3.

Watauga County Elections Director Matt Snyder said that voters in the Blowing Rock, Boone, Seven Devils and Beech Mountain municipalities can vote and same-day register at either one-stop site in Watauga County.

In Avery County, one-stop voting takes place only inside the elections office in the Avery County Courthouse.

The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 30 – Nov. 3. The hours on Saturday, Nov. 4 are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
