Piano Concert by Acclaimed Baron Fenwick on Aug. 15 to Benefit Democratic Watauga School Board Candidates

 

Aug. 9, 2012. Watauga County native son Baron Fenwick, currently a student at Mannes College, The New School of Music in New York City, will be playing a solo piano concert at the Rosen Concert Hall on the Appalachian State University campus on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 7 p.m.

The concert will benefit Watauga County School Board candidates Jay Fenwick, Barbara Kinsey and Brenda Reese. Suggested donations at the door or in advance are $10.

Baron Fenwick has been playing the piano since the age of 5. He has given solo recitals in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York and Virginia, and he has performed with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the South Carolina Philharmonic, the Charlotte Symphony and the Western Piedmont Symphony.

His piano teachers have included Appalachian State University professor Bair Shagdaron, UNC School of the Arts professor Clifton Matthews and internationally celebrated pianist Susan Starr in Philadelphia. He is currently studying with Vladimir Feltsman at Mannes College.
