Nearly 6,000 Vote on Election Day in Watauga as of 4 PM Tuesday, See Breakdown by Precinct and Photos

Nov. 4, 2014. As of 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 5,781 people have voted on Election Day, according to data from the Watauga County Board of Elections office. See a spreadsheet of the number of voters per precinct below.

In addition to one-stop voting and mail-in ballots, more than 14,000 people have voted in Watauga County so far. Nearly 46,000 people in Watauga County are registered to vote. That represents about 31 percent turnout with three hours and 30 minutes left until the polls close at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Here are voter numbers from past even-year elections. Note that early voting in the previous elections was two weeks long as opposed to the one week of one-stop voting in the 2014 general election. Data is sourced from N.C. Vote Tracker, which is a project of the conservative Civitas Institute.

  • Early Voting:  7,865
  • Election Day: 5,781 (as of 4 p.m. on Tuesday)

2012 General Election

  • Early Voting: 15,316
  • Election Day: 9,959

2010 General Election:
