Nov. 5, 2013. Election Day is here once again.
This morning candidates were out and about making their last pitch, standing in front of the polling precincts across town.
As James Milner, candidate for Boone Town Council, headed off to work after hanging out in front of the Watauga County Administration Building on Tuesday morning, he said, “I’ll be tweeting and Facebooking all through the day.”
According to staff at the Watauga County Board of Elections, 869 people have voted on Election Day as of about 2 p.m.
Blowing Rock – 323
Beech Mountain – 109
Seven Devils – 23
Boone – 414
Blue Ridge – 8
Boone 1 : 84
Boone 2: 47
Brushy Fork: 2
Boone 3: 43
New River 1: 60

This is in addition to the more than 1,100 people who early voted. The vast majority of those voters were Boone residents while Blowing Rock came in a very distant second place.
Below our a few photos from this morning. The polls close at 7:30 p.m., so check back for the voter tallies, which will be published as soon as those are announced.
