Hagan Invites Veterans Who Need Assistance With Disability Claims to Event on August 22 in Jamestown

Aug. 6, 2013. U.S. Senator Kay Hagan is encouraging any veteran who needs help signing up for online e-benefits or has questions about new or existing claims or appeals to attend an event she is co-hosting with the U.S. Veterans Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, on August 22. VA personnel from Washington, D.C. and Winston-Salem will be on hand with computers to coach veterans through the e-benefits process. Senator Hagan will be in attendance to deliver remarks and greet the veterans.

“We must hold up our end of the bargain and provide our veterans the benefits they have earned in a timely manner,” Hagan said. “I encourage any veteran who needs to sign up for online e-benefits or needs assistance with a new or existing claim to come to this event. North Carolina is the most military friendly state in the country and I am committed to making sure our veterans are receiving the benefits they have earned.”

The event, which runs from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, is free to all veterans and families of veterans and no pre-registration is required.

In June, Senator Hagan and the VA co-hosted a similar event in Jacksonville where staffers helped more than 150 veterans with their claims.
