U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx doesn’t have any public events scheduled during the current “District Work Week,” according to Sheridan Watson, communications director for Foxx.

This is the first extended recess since President Donald Trump’s inauguration last month, and activists have made no secrets about protesting congressional lawmakers during their week home from Washington.

“As I’ve told our staff in the district, ‘Be prepared next week that we go home, everywhere we go there’s going to be droves of people coming out,’” Rep. Mark Walker, R-N.C., chair of the conservative Republican Study Committee, told McClatchy DC

The Huffington Post reported on the “dozens of rallies targeting members of Congress at town hall meetings and other appearances.” The report noted the Resistance Recess and Town Hall Project websites, which are compiling these appearances in calendar form.

In North Carolina, Resistance Recess events are taking place in Apex, Asheville, Cary, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Durham, Greenville, Hendersonville, Huntersville, Raleigh and Wilmington. The closest event listed on the Town Hall Project website to the High Country will be held at Huntersville.
