First Lady Ann McCrory, Alice Forest Announce Operation Homefront Results

Dec. 20, 2013. First Lady Ann McCrory and Alice Forest, wife of Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest, have been working together to show support to families of deployed soldiers during the Christmas season. Over the past week, they have been collecting checks, Target and Walmart gift cards, and notes of encouragement for a group of families through the nonprofit Operation Homefront.

First Lady Ann McCrory  and Alice Forest are proud to come together to announce the results of this joint initiative. Over the past seven days, donations were collected in the form of checks and gift cards. Additionally, 228 cards and notes of encouragement have been collected on behalf of the small Family Readiness Group (FRG) based out of Fayetteville. 

Alice Forest is thankful due to the results of this initiative. Mrs. Forest explains, “I am humbled by the outpouring of support by people all around North Carolina to rally around these families as they celebrate Christmas this year without husbands or fathers. it is my hope that these families will feel appreciated, taken care of, and loved by the efforts of all involved.”
