Oct. 17, 2013. Supporters for both Republicans and Democrats withstood the dreary weather in front of the Watauga County Courthouse Thursday morning to make a final pitch to the first batch of early voters making their way to the polls on Thursday morning.

So far – as of lunchtime on Thursday – about 30 people have early voted in Watauga County, according to staff at the Watauga County Board of Elections office.

Early voting across the state started at 8 a.m. this morning and continues through Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. While it is too late to register to vote on Election Day, same-day early voting registration is available.
