Oct. 17, 2013. Supporters for both Republicans and Democrats withstood the dreary weather in front of the Watauga County Courthouse Thursday morning to make a final pitch to the first batch of early voters making their way to the polls on Thursday morning.
So far – as of lunchtime on Thursday – about 30 people have early voted in Watauga County, according to staff at the Watauga County Board of Elections office.
Early voting across the state started at 8 a.m. this morning and continues through Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. While it is too late to register to vote on Election Day, same-day early voting registration is available. Look below for exact times, dates and locations to early vote in Watauga and Avery counties.
Where To One-Stop Vote in Watauga
One-stop absentee early voting begins on Thursday, Oct. 17, and ends on Saturday, Nov. 2. One-stop voting will be held in the Watauga County Commissioners Board Room located on the ground floor of the Watauga County Administration Building on these dates:
- Thursday, Oct. 17 – Friday, Oct. 18. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 21 – Friday, Oct. 25, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, Oct.28 – Friday, Nov. 1, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 2, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Where To One-Stop Vote in Avery
One-stop absentee early voting begins on Thursday, Oct. 17, and ends Saturday, Nov. 2. One-stop voting will be held in the Avery County Board of Elections office in the Avery County Courthouse Annex.
- Thursday, Oct. 17 – Friday, Oct. 18. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 21 – Friday, Oct. 25, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 28 – Friday, Nov. 1, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 2, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
