Oct. 7, 2013. This coming Friday, Oct. 11, is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming municipal elections on Nov. 5.

The letter must be postmarked by Oct. 11. If delivering the application in person, the local elections office must receive the registration form by 5 p.m. on Oct. 11.
However, if you miss that deadline, you can still complete the voter registration application and take it to any early voting location, where you will be able to register and vote at the same time. For Watauga County, the one-stop polling precinct is the Watauga County Board of Commissioners boardroom located on the ground floor of the Watauga County Administration Building on West King Street in Boone, and for Avery County, the one-stop polling precinct is the Avery County Board of Elections office in Newland.
