July 23, 2012. The Watauga County Board Of Commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room of the Watauga County Administration Building located at 814 West King St. in downtown Boone. The purpose of the public hearing will be to gather citizen input on the county’s solid waste management plan update.

The update is required by state law as a means for counties and municipalities to make changes to their ten-year solid waste management plans.  Watauga County’s solid waste management plan was adopted in 2009 and outlines all aspects of solid waste collection and disposal in the county.

To view a copy of the draft plan visit http://www.wataugacounty.org/main/App_pages/Dept/BOC/Forms/2012SWMP.pdf or stop by the Watauga County Manager’s Office.

The Watauga County Board Of Commissioners will also hold its only regular meeting this month, Tuesday, July 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room of The Watauga County Administration Building.
