Outside Agency Funding Deadline Aug. 25, More Than $115K in 2014-15 Funding From Town of Boone

By Jesse Wood

July 10, 2014. In June, the Boone Town Council set aside $115,631 for outside agency funding for the 2014-15 fiscal year, and the town’s Outside Agency Funding Review Committee will peruse the applications and determine how to divvy up the funding.

The Town of Boone began advertising for outside agency funding applications on Thursday, and the deadline for submissions is Monday, Aug. 25.

The application can be found at www.townofboone.net.

The $115,631 returns the town to 2012-13 funding levels to outside agencies. In 2013-14 fiscal year, the Boone Town Council members said they didn’t fund outside agencies because of the shortfall from the redistribution of the county sales tax by the Watauga County Board of Commissioners.
