Boone Mayor Pens Letter To State Board of Elections Chair, Voices ‘Dismay’ Over Watauga Elections Meeting

Aug. 15, 2013. In a letter dated Aug. 14, Boone Mayor Loretta Clawson wrote to Joshua Howard, chairman of the State Board of Elections, stating her “dismay” over the actions taken at the Watauga County Board of Elections meeting held on Monday morning. Read a detail of the meeting here

“I ask that your office look into the situation that in my opinion makes it impossible to conduct a fair and impartial election,” Clawson wrote.
