Nov. 15, 2013. Mayors of North Carolina came together Wednesday, Nov. 13, for the Metro Mayors Conference in Raleigh, N.C. for a full-day meeting that included a panel on economic development and job creation, an annual business meeting and a dinner at the Governor’s Mansion. Hosted by Governor Pat McCrory and attended by legislators, the dinner had a surprise for two of our local officials.
Mayor Loretta Clawson was honored as an outgoing mayor and received a standing ovation, and Mayor-Elect Andy Ball was recognized and welcomed as the town’s newly elected mayor. “This was a wonderful experience, and I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with such amazing people,” stated Clawson. She added, “The dinner at the Governor’s Mansion was the perfect way to end the conference.”
