Avery County Republicans Crush Democrats to the Polls So Far, Account for 79 Percent of Mail-In Ballots

Oct. 18, 2012. Early voting started today across the state, and more than 60 people have walked into the voter booths in Avery County this morning as of 10:45 a.m. 

According to Civitas Vote Tracker, 141 ballots were cast, so far, during the early portion of the absentee mail-in period which ends on Oct. 30. Of those 141 ballots, nearly 79 percent were Republicans with 111 votes. Democrat-registered voters accounted for 16 votes and unaffiliated-registered voters accounted for 14 votes.
