Feb. 14, 2014. As usual, candidate filing jumped off to a fast start on Monday, the first day to file for the 2014 elections, with a set of eager candidates waiting for the clock to strike noon.
While the Watauga County and Avery County Board of Elections offices haven’t seen quite as many candidates walk through its doors on subsequent days, the field is shaping up for exciting contests in both counties. And with two weeks left, there is still plenty of time for more candidates to file by Friday, Feb. 28 at noon.
To narrow down the field, the primary election will be held on May 6 with the November election taking place on Nov. 4. See all the important dates here.
