Mr. Codey James Maitlen, age 22, of Fleetwood, died on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Minister Tim Kanup. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn.
Mr. Maitlen is survived by:
His mother and step father: Cathy and Michael Ellison of the home
3 Sisters – Brittney Maitlen of Laurel Springs, Karli Ellison and Kaylee Ellison both of the home
1 half sister – Tara Maitlen of FL;
1 half brother – Danny Maitlen of FL;
Maternal Grandmother – Louise Lauderdale of GA;
Maternal Grandfather – Jim Lauderdale and wife Linda of FL;
Paternal Step Grandparents – Willard and Brenda Ellison of West Jefferson,
Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lester Sterling Howell, D. Aug. 27, 2012
Mr. Lester Sterling Howell age 83, of Roanoke, VA died on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. Mr. Howell was born on October 5, 1928 in Clinchburg, VA to Howard Frank and Nonnie Osborne Howell. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his wife, Verda Howell, brother, Lloyd Joe Howell and sister, Thelma “Peach” Taylor.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Haw Orchard Baptist Church by Rev. Lloyd Day.
Mr. Howell is survived by:
1 Brother, Richard Howell of Conover, NC & 1 Sister, Mildred Greenway of Columbus, NJ
also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
