Mr. Allie Walter Norris, 93, of Jefferson passed away Sunday evening, April 2, 2012 at Margate Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. John Elledge and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 10-11am at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Norris was born in Ashe County on Friday, April 12, 1918 to the late Cleve Norris and Mollie Greene. He was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church. He was known for his humor and laughter.
He was preceded in death by four brothers; Howard Norris, Bruce Norris, James Norris, and Jack Norris; one sister; Ruth Crumpler.
Mr. Norris is survived by his wife Lorraine Parsons Norris; One step-son; Fred Steven Mash of North Wilkesboro; One brother; Paul Norris of Lansing; four sisters; Libby Hartzog of Millers Creek, Lucy Waugh of Millers Creek, Helen Ross of Elizabethton, TN, and Ruby Wagner of Elizabethton, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Maude Jeanette Harris Blevins, 89, of Crumpler, NC died on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Blevins was born July 15, 1922 inTazwell County, VA to John and Nell Harris. Mrs. Blevins was preceded in death by her husband: Willie Bart Blevins, 3 sons: Walter Wayne Blevins, Denford Blevins & David Benny Blevins, 1 daughter: Ola Blevins Myers, 6 sisters & 2 brothers. Mrs. Blevins lived in Harford County for 58 years. She loved sewing, gardening and canning. She had a very outgoing personality and loved spending time with children. Many people who knew her affectionately called her Granny. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Chapel and Baptist View Baptist Church in MD.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 am at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dean Shepherd. Burial will follow in Scott-Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Badger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by:
2 Daughters: Betty Richardson and husband Jim of Crumpler, NC & Lois Blevins Knopp of Bel Air, MD; 1 Brother: Jack Harris ofAshland,VA; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Dewey Blevins Campbell, D. April 1, 2012
Mr. Dewey Blevins Campbell, 87, of West Jefferson, died on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Margate Health & Rehab Center in Jefferson. Mr. Campbell was born on April 14, 1924 in Ashe County, to the late John Thomas and Bessie Goodman Campbell. In addition to his parents Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Campbell, son, Jeffery Campbell, eight brothers and sisters, Lawrence Campbell, Mary Wagoner, Rex Campbell, Walter Campbell, Grover Campbell, Elmer “Spud” Campbell, Charlie Campbell and Grace Goins. Mr. Campbell served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church where he served as choir director. He was also past choir director at West Jefferson First Baptist Church. Dewey loved music and was a faithful servant of the Lord throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Friendly Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Wayne Osborne, Rev. Ken Morris and Rev. Michael Lea. Burial will follow in West Jefferson Cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Campbell is survived by: one son, Chris Campbell of Todd, one daughter, Joy Campbell of West Jefferson, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Sheets Absher, 81, ofJefferson,NCdied on Friday, March 30, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Absher was born on October 11, 1930 in Ashe County, NC to the late Rufus Alonzo and Sue Crepps Sheets. In addition to her parents Mrs. Absher was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kenneth Absher, brother, Jack Sheets and sister, Clara Cobb. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Absher enjoyed working in her flowers, feeding the birds, canning and cooking. She loved her church family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at 3:00 pm at theFriendshipBaptistChurch. Burial will follow in Big Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Howard Lafhalett Johnson,92, of Lansing, died on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Segraves Care Center in Jefferson. Mr. Johnson was born on December 15, 1919, in the Silas Creek community of Ashe County. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Clyde Elliott Johnson on May 20, 2011. Mr. Johnson was a member of Mt.Zion Baptist Church in Lansing.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Mt.Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Fred Richardson, Minister Danny Miller, Rev. Joey McClure and Rev. Tommy Dollar. Burial will follow in Barr Cemetery.
