Weekly NC Lottery Update: Newland Woman Wins $20,000, and a $137,263 Prize is Purchased in Spruce Pine

lotteryApril 19, 2013. Since Thursday, April 11, players of N.C. Education Lottery games won more than $19.4 million in prizes with more than $14.3 million awarded to winners of instant scratch-off games. Players of draw games won more than $5.1 million in total prizes. The Ingles in Spruce Pine was the home of a winning Carolina Cash Drawing worth more than $137,000 (see below), and a Newland woman won $20,000 (see below).

Mega Millions Report

Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $83 million if taken as an annuity or $62.5 million if taken as a lump sum. In Tuesday’s drawing, 9,264 tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000, totaling $70,747.

Two tickets from Tuesday’s drawing, both worth $10,000, were sold by the same store. The lucky store is the Poor Boy General Store & Grill on Poor Boy Farm Road in Knightdale.

In the Friday, April 12 drawing, 10,979 tickets won $75,202 in prizes ranging from $2 to $450.

Powerball Report 

This weekend’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $95 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $61.3 million if taken as a lump sum. The Saturday, April 13 drawing produced 17,621 winning tickets ranging from $4 to $10,000, totaling $133,673. The Wednesday, April 17 drawing produced 14,793 winning tickets with prizes from $4 to $10,000 for a total of $114,332.
