Watauga Community Band Celebrates Fall with the Classics on Oct. 14 at ASU’s Rosen Concert Hall

Oct. 4, 2012. The Watauga Community Band invites you to their fall concert on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at 3 p.m. The concert will be held in the Rosen Concert Hall, in the Hayes School of Music, on the campus of Appalachian State University.

The band, conducted by Bill Winkler, will perform Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird” and James Horner’s “My Heart Will Go On” from the 1997 film “Titanic,” among others. There will also be a mystery selection that is sure to surprise the audience.

The band is also welcoming some special guests. Tuba player Brian Bergin will be guest conductor on Stu Phillip’s and Glen Larson’s “Battlestar Galactica” from the original television series. The German band, Oompah, will also take the stage to perform some pieces.

This concert is free and open to the public. However, donations to the Watauga Community Band are appreciated. Come celebrate fall with the Watauga Community Band.
