Volunteers at Cannon Memorial Hospital Recognized

Oct. 12, 2012. Cannon Memorial Hospital volunteers were honored for their dedicated service at a luncheon held Sept. 13, 2012. Fifteen volunteers were presented with hourly recognition pins to recognize each individual’s service to the hospital, ranging from 100 to 10,000 hours. Special recognition was given to five volunteers for ten years of service, two volunteers in recognition of twenty years of service and one volunteer in recognition of twenty-five years of service.

This past year, Cannon Memorial Hospital volunteers brought in over $16,000 through varying fundraisers and gave back over $16,600 for patient service needs/equipment and healthcare career scholarships to students in our local communities.

Cannon Memorial Hospital volunteers were also recognized by the North Carolina Hospital Volunteer organization as a five-star hospital. This award is based on the activities they participated in during the year, as well as their involvement in their local community. Only a select few of hospitals across North Carolina receive this recognition.
