Valle Crucis Community Park Celebrates 10 Years of Music in the Valley on Saturday, May 19

May 12, 2012. Since 2002, Valle Crucis Community Park has provided free concerts each Friday evening of the summer through its Music in the Valle concert series. This year, the park will celebrate ten years of Music in the Valle with a kickoff concert on Saturday, May 19. The event will begin at noon and end at 6:00, and will feature three local bluegrass and old-time bands, Diana and Sarvis Ridge, Southbound, and The Sheets Family.

For children and the young-at-heart, yard games will be set up around the park, and Apple Hill Farm will have live alpacas on display. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, provided by the Come Back Shack.

The cost of the event is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 5. Thanks to sponsorship by Apple Hill Farm, Mast Farm Inn, and Mast General Store, all proceeds go directly to support the park. Valle Crucis Community Park is a nonprofit community park, funded entirely by grants and donations from the community.

The regular Music in the Valle concert series will begin Friday, May 25 and continue through Friday, August 31. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free, but a $5 donation per person to the park is recommended. To view the full concert schedule, visit www.vallecrucispark.org
