Trumpet Chamber Recital Presented Feb. 28 at ASU

Hayes School of Music logoFeb. 17, 2012. BOONE — James Stokes leads a faculty trumpet chamber recital Feb. 28 at Appalachian State University. The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.

The program is comprised of “Morceau de Concours, Op. 57” by Giulio Alary, “Ceremonies for Trumpet and Piano” by Robert Suderburg, “Divertimento for Trumpet, Trombone and Piano” by Boris Blacher, “Economy Band” by David Van Vactor and “Maid of the Mist” by Herbert L. Clarke.

Stokes, an associate professor in Appalachian’s Hayes School of Music will be joined by colleagues Brent Bingham, trumpet, Karen Robertson, horn, Drew Leslie, trombone and Chris Blaha, tuba. Others providing accompaniment are pianists Laura Chu Stokes, Christina Hayes and Rodney Reynerson, and percussionist Diana Loomer.
