Oct. 9, 2012. The Public Utilities & Engineering Department for the Town of Boone would like you to advise the community that due to a water main break resulting in a pressure loss at the intersection of US Highway 321 and Boone Heights Drive, Town of Boone water customers should as a precautionary measure boil their water before use.

The Division of Water Resources advises that when water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes or for food preparation) or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease causing organisms that may be present in the water. This advisory remains in effect until written notification is issued.

If you have any questions or concerns pertaining to this matter, please call the Public Utilities Department at 828-268-6250.
