Sugar Mountain Resort Re-Opens for Skiing & Snowboarding on Monday

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort reopens today for skiing and snowboarding. Guests can expect to ride the Summit Express chairlift to Sugar’s peak servicing the Northridge, Switchback, Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes.

10 to 22 inches of manmade and packed powder snow cover the slopes. The full day session runs from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. while the half-day session begins at 12:30 p.m. and ends at 4:30 pm.

Sugar’s 10,000 square foot outdoor ice rink is scheduled to open in the next few days and the tubing park will open as soon as weather permits.

The Sugar Mountain Ski and Snowboard School and the Equipment Rental Shop are both fully operational. Sugar Mountain Sports Shop, located in the Base Lodge, is open and features the finest in winter apparel and footwear, quality gift items, and souvenirs. Sugar Mountain Resort’s thirteenth annual SugarFest lights up winter in Western North Carolina from December 11th through the 13th with Olympic figure skating medalist, Paul Wylie and two-time alpine skiing Olympic medalist, Diann Roffe.
