Start Your Holiday Season Out Right with High Country Christmas Religious Services for the Entire Family

Dec. 16, 2014. With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, sometimes it can be easy to forget the true reason for the season.

For many High Country churches, Christmas is their time to shine with various services and events taking place to celebrate the holiday with merriment and cheer.

Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church will be hosting their Christmas Eve Worship Service at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The 5 p.m. service will be family friendly with service for all ages and the 7 p.m. service will feature the worship with the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church is located at 1218 Main Street in Blowing Rock.

RumpleMemorial_cmykBanner Elk Presbyterian Church, located at 420 College Street SW in Banner Elk, will hold two candlelight worship services on Christmas Eve. The first service will begin at 5 p.m. with Holy Communion served by passing the trays, and the second service will be held at 7 p.m. with Holy Communion served by intinction.

Grace Evangelical Luthern Church, located at 115 East King Street in Boone, will host many Christmas Eve services this year. A family-oriented service will be held at 4:30 p.m., followed by two Christmas Eve services at 7L30 p.m. and again at 11 p.m. The church office will be closed on Christmas Day.

Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church will host Family Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve at 4, 6 ad 8 p.m. Christmas Day mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church is located at 163 Galax Lane in Blowing Rock.

284886_143427152403662_8314337_nOn Christmas Eve, Boone United Methodist Church, located at 471 New Market Boulevard in Boone, will host A Children’s Liturgy with communion at 4 p.m., Praise and Worship Service with communion at 6 p.m., Blackburn’s Chapel Worship at 8 p.m., Lessons and Carols at 8 p.m. and Traditional Worship with communion at 11 p.m. There will be no services on Christmas Day.

The First Baptist Church of Boone will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Annual Community Christmas Day Lunch will begin on Christmas Day at 11 a.m. The First Baptist Church of Boone is located at 375 West King Street in Boone.

St Mary of the Hills Catholic Church will host three services on Christmas Eve. A Children’s Pageant, Holy Eucharist and Reception will be held at 5 p.m., Vivaldi Magnificat presented by the choir at 10:30 p.m. and at 11 p.m. the church will hold Midnight Mass and reception. On Christmas Day, the first mass of Christmas with simple Eucharist and hymns will be held at noon.

Mount Vernon Baptist Church will have three services to choose from on Christmas Eve. An interactive family service will be held from 5:30-6:15 p.m., followed by traditional services at 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Mount Vernon Baptist Church is located at 3505 Bamboo Rd. in Boone.
