Start Your Holiday Season Out Right with High Country Christmas Religious Services for the Entire Family

Dec. 24, 2013. With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, sometimes it can be easy to forget the true reason for the season.

For many High Country churches, Christmas is their time to shine with various services and events taking place to celebrate the holiday with merriment and cheer. 

Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church will be hosting their Christmas Eve Worship Service at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. followed by the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at the 7 p.m. service. Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church is located at 1218 Main Street in Blowing Rock. 

RumpleMemorial_cmykBanner Elk Presbyterian Church, located at 420 College Street SW in Banner Elk, will hold two Christmas Eve services at 5 and 7 p.m. Both services will be accompanied by special music and communion.

Grace Evangelical Luthern Church, located at 115 East King Street in Boone, will host a Festival of Lessons and Carols at 8:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22. Christmas Eve Worship services will be held at 4:30, 7:30 and 11 p.m. Special music will be offered for 30 minutes prior to each service. 

Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church will host Family Christmas Mass on Christmas Eve at 4, 6 ad 8 p.m. Christmas Day mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saint Elizabeth of the Hill Country Catholic Church is located at 163 Galax Lane in Blowing Rock. 

284886_143427152403662_8314337_nBoone United Methodist Church, located at 471 New Market Boulevard in Boone, will host Lessons and Carols at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, along with 11 p.m. worship and communion. A 5:30 Eucharist service will be held on Christmas Day. 

The First Baptist Church of Boone will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Annual Community Christmas Day Lunch will begin on Christmas Day at 11 a.m. The First Baptist Church of Boone is located at 375 West King Street in Boone. 

St Mary of the Hills will host a noon mass on Christmas Eve with hymns and special guitar music. A Children’s Pageant with Holy Eucharist and reception will be held at 5 p.m., a Choral Offering will be held at 10:30 p.m. and at 11 p.m. Midnight Mass and Reception will start. On Christmas Day, a simple noon mass with hymns will be held. Please note that all of these services are being held in the Parish Hall during church renovations.
