As more than 200 people gathered at the Watauga County Board of Commissioners meeting to oppose Maymead’s proposed asphalt plant off of U.S. 421 in Deep Gap, Watauga County Planning Director Joe Furman said he received an application for another asphalt plant in another part of the county today.
Furman said that the location of this proposed asphalt plant is off of Rainbow Trail Road and the applicant is Radford Quarries.
Furman said he hadn’t yet read through the application and didn’t give additional details.
