June 4, 2012. “Plant in Pink” took place on Saturday morning, June 2, at the Seby B. Jones Cancer Center at Watauga Medical Center. The Blue Ridge Garden Club members and other supporters from the community, including the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, came out in their pink, bringing and planting pink flowers in honor of those who suffer from breast cancer.

The flower chosen for the event were pink petunias, as they are in season right now and are ground flowers.

The Blue Ridge Garden Club in Boone has 28 members and all of them participated.
