Oct. 14, 2013. Sugar Mountain’s 23rd annual Oktoberfest took place over the weekend to the tune of hundreds of happy attendees enjoying the activities and festivities of the Bavarian-style celebration despite a few sprinkles and showers.
“Although the weather was more challenging than it has been in the past, we were very pleased with the turnout,” said Kim Jochl of Sugar Mountain Resort.
The free, two-day festival provided music, food, activities and fun for the whole family. Oct. 12-13, hundreds of excited patrons came out to enjoy craftsmen and artistans, Bavarian-style food and drink, ski lift rides, the kid’s section, live music and much, much more!
“The middle school band was a big hit, and we will definitely have them back next year. The climbing wall was fun and putt-putt was busy! Sunday was a little bit slower because of several rain showers throughout the day, but at soon as the rain stopped everyone came right back outside and kept having fun.”
Sugar Mountain Resort would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers that made this event possible.
“We always appreciate our volunteers and staff, Oktoberfest would not be the same without them,” said Jochl.
“It’s always about the people.”
