Chris’s Ol’ Hat Trick Tuesday!
Peabody’s Wine and Beer Merchants – July 10, 5-7 p.m.
No, there won’t be a magic show Tuesday. Except that Chris will be pulling out the magic from Sierra Nevada/Russian River Brewing’s Collaboration: Brux – a wild yeast fermented ale. He’s awfully proud of this latest edition to the shelves at Peabody’s. Plus he’s showcasing the latest deal – Shiner Dortmunder at $15 a case for your pleasure along with Dark Horse’s Kolsch.
Don’t miss out! And don’t be timid. It’s just your Uncle Chris in a tux with a bunny tucked in his sleeve.
P.S. Chris says not to make plans next Tuesday, July 17 as his buddy from Bell’s, Hogue the Southeastern Rep taps a cask…wait a minute, did he say “cask?” Yep, he did…a cask of Bell’s Two Hearted is to be sampled plus more from one of our favorite breweries out of the Mid-West.
Note: Peabody’s holds a beer tasting every Tuesday and extends a 10 percent discount on all tasted beers!
Premier Wine Tasting Thursday: First Ever Duval-Leroy Champagne Tasting!
Peabody’s Wine and Beer Merchants, July 12, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Experience serious champagnes: This is the first installment of this week’s dedication to our French brethren over the Atlantic. Their cultivation of wine culture is epic beginning with Roman occupation’s planting of grape vines through the Dark and Middle Ages, Napoleon and Nazi occupation in WWII. France safeguards it’s vineyards and the wineries with a zeal never seen before nor probably ever will. Hats off to France.
We begin our delving into French wine with the US national sales rep Arthur Silvente of Duval-Leroy.
We will taste $50-$100 bottles and include a Champagne flute to take home with a $10 tasting fee. This is very exciting as we have never had a Champagne house representative for one of these tastings.
Corks pop at 5:30 p.m. and will go until 7:30 p.m.
The tasted Champagnes will receive the customary 10 percent discount per bottle plus 15 percent discount by the 1/2 case (6 btls).
Celebrate Bastille Day – Viva la France
Peabody’s Wine & Beer Merchants – Saturday, July 14, 12 to 5 p.m.
This Bastille Day–the heralded day French Revolutionaries stormed the prison-castle, the Bastille to free political prisoners–we welcome Stephanie Bourgeois to Peabody’s. Stephanie runs half of Bourgeois Family Selections an importing company specializing in…you guessed it, French wines such as Sensation Rose, Clos Cristal Hospices de Saumur, Domaine de Chateaumar Cotes de Rhone Grenache and Cuvee Vincent and many, many others. We plan on uncorking several bottlings from Steph’s portfolio as well as the lady herself sharing her personal experiences trekking, tasting and ultimately blending some of these wines herself. Plus, the dialogs between Steph and childhood friend and Freedom Beverage Rep Bryan Parker as they pour through the gamut will keep you smiling as much as the wines.
This upcoming weekend is not be missed by Francophiles or anyone else for that matter.
Peabody’s hosts a free tasting every Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. A 10 percent discount is offered on tasted wines and a 15 percent standard discount on any full or mix-matched cases of wine.
Peabody’s Wine & Beer Merchants is located at 1104 Hwy 105, Boone.
