May 24, 2012. New River Light & Power is the host utility for the North Carolina Association of Municipal Electric Systems (NCAMES) 15th Annual Lineworkers Rodeo.
This free event is open to the public and will take place on Thursday, May 24th, 2012 on ASU’s Intramural Fields off State Farm Road and Dale Street behind the ASU freshman parking lot. Competition begins at 9 a.m. and will run through to 4 p.m.
The Lineworkers Rodeo attracts the best linemen from around the state of North Carolina to participate in events based on traditional lineman tasks and skills. The Rodeo is the ultimate venue for lineworkers to demonstrate their skills and knowledge. At the Rodeo, journeyman and apprentice lineworkers can compete for professional recognition, attend training courses and practice essential skills in a safe environment. With over 25 Utilities attending, it will certainly be an entertaining competition.
