N.C. Lottery Update: Nine Players Win Prizes From $150,000 to $3M This Past Week

Nine players across the state scratched or matched their way to prizes from $150,000 to $3 million this week.

Players in this weekend’s Mega Millions and Powerball games have the chance to win a nine-figure jackpot.

Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $194 million if taken as an annuity or $117 million if taken as a lump sum. The jackpot has rolled since the March 24 drawing when a player from New York claimed the $59 million jackpot.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $138 million if taken as an annuity or $86.3 million if the lump sum option is chosen.

The biggest win of the week went to James Anthony Jr., a house painter from Cramerton. He plans to use the $3 million prize he won playing the $120 Million Cash game to get a captain’s license and purchase a boat to start a deep sea fishing charter business. {Read More}

Archdale resident Ronald Thompson is the latest player to win $1 million playing the 100X The Cash game. He scratched off the lucky $20 ticket after purchasing it at the TMM 2 store on U.S. 311 in Archdale on Sunday. {Read More}

From May 15 through May 21, instant players won $23.3 million and draw game players won $5.8 million, including $4.4 million from North Carolina draw games Pick 3, Pick 4, Cash 5 and All or Nothing. Since last weekend’s drawings, Mega Millions and Powerball players won more than $1.4 million in prizes. In all, players won more than $29.1 million in prizes statewide.
