Linda Griffin is an artist who exemplifies the drive for artistic exploration and change. Her award-winning floral paintings gave way to jewel-like abstract compositions. Gallery visitors will see both her floral paintings and her abstractions.

Larry Hultquist’s paintings are a tribute to the beauty of the vistas and hidden coves along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mr. Hultquist is the landscape architect of the Blue Ridge Parkway, and if from a talented family of 13 artistic siblings. His watercolors stand out in this group for his distinctive hand as well as for his interpretation of natural settings.

Louise Keranen and Jan Geismar’s acrylic paintings reflect their playful and imaginative approaches to visual expression. Louise’s “Nature Repackaged” is especially entertaining.

And they lead us to the masterful paintings of Trena McNabb, who reminds us to look and savor all that she offers as visual delights for our eyes. Trena’s paintings feature her themes of wildlife habitats and mother earth, and all of them encourage us to take our time to “look.” Things are sometimes more than they seem to be on first glance.

Prints from local artist, Wes Waugh, and paintings by Norma Fowler of Linville comprise the landscape offerings in this summer group show.

Visitors will find Morning Star Gallery at 1151 South Main Street in Blowing Rock, NC.
