More Than 2,600 Early Vote in Watauga During First Two Days of Early Voting, 1,124 Vote at ASU Student Union

By Jesse Wood

Oct. 24, 2014. The new early voting numbers are in, and more than 2,600 people have voted in Watauga County during the first two days of early voting.

“We are very pleased with this amount, and we just encourage every voter in Watauga County to get out and vote. There are a lot of good candidates on the ballot, and next week is supposed to be pretty and they need to get out while the weather is pretty,” Watauga County Board of Elections Director Jane Ann Hodges said as the polls closed on Friday.

With a smile, she warned that Election Day might be very snowy, perhaps up to two feet of snow, so why not just vote while the weather is nice?

The following is the breakdown of early-voting totals at early-voting site:

  • Plemmons Student Union at ASU – 1,124
  • Blowing Rock Town Hall – 155
  • Meat Camp VFD – 89
  • Deep Gap VFD – 85
  • Western Watauga Community Center – 130
  • Watauga County Administration Building in downtown Boone – 1062
