It’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays, and Father Christmas will be at one of Blowing Rock’s favorite shopping destinations on Saturday, Oct. 3 to help you get a head start. Browse for gifts, have your photo made with Santa and cross those greeting cards off your to-do list!

Seasonal displays at Almost Rodeo Drive in Blowing Rock.

Almost Rodeo Drive, located in the Village Shoppes on Main in downtown Blowing Rock, is your year-round one-stop shop for gifts for the whole family. Whether you need clothes and accessories, seasonal housewares or something a little more unique, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for at this local favorite.

“We pretty much have gifts for everyone,” said designer Maria Coombes. “We have home décor, floral arrangements for the seasons, clothing, accessories, fall and Christmas and décor for all seasons, outdoor garden stuff — all kinds of fun.

“It’s a little bit of everything. We have a huge line of clothes, boots, jewelry, scarves, purses, Brighton and more.”

With the town’s Art in the Park celebration going on that day, Saturday will be a perfect time for you to stop by and get started on your holiday shopping list.

While you’re there, don’t miss your chance to meet Old Saint Nick!

Known throughout the state for his Santa Claus ministry, “Santa” Cliff Snider, known lovingly as “Santa Cliff” and “Cliff Kringle,” will make a special appearance at Almost Rodeo Drive on Saturday.

Snider has been sharing his love for all things Christmas with families everywhere since he first donned a Santa suit in 1962. He’s been featured on television programs like The 700 Club, on the website for Billy Graham’s Evangelistic Society and in publications like Guideposts magazine.

Over the years, he’s become one of the nation’s favorite faces of the holiday season through fine art photography, paintings and personalized Christmas gifts. In 2012, he was awarded North Carolina’s “Order of the Long Leaf Pine,” an honorable citizen’s award, by the governor for his work to reach children with his Christmas spirit.
