Oct. 1, 2012. Low-maintenance tropicals will be discussed Oct. 13 at Appalachian State University as part of the High Country Gardening program offered by the Department of Biology.
The free class will be offered from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Biology Greenhouse, located at 211 Dale St. off State Farm Road.
Jerry Meyer will address selection and proper care of tropical foliage plants. His class will focus on the care and origins of less common species that have proven themselves adaptable and require only modest care. There will be a brief tour of the conservatory and demonstration of vegetative propagation techniques.
