Local Groups Fight Hunger by Taking the Feinstein Challenge

April 9, 2012 – Only three weeks remain to take the Feinstein Challenge and join local schools, churches, businesses and civic organizations in the fight to end hunger in the High Country.  Hospitality House has partnered with the Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation and at the conclusion of the challenge will receive a grant based on the amount of funds & food raised between March 1 and April 30, 2012.

“The outpouring of support has been inspiring,” states Hospitality House Director of Development Todd Carter. “Receiving contributions from so many various groups, from elementary students to business institutions, exemplifies the true definition of community and is extremely gratifying.”

So far, Crossnore School, Mabel Elementary, First Presbyterian Youth, St. Luke’s Episcopal, Laurel Springs Baptist, A.C.E.S. Event Specialists, Mast General Store, ASU Resident Assistants, High Country Mommies, ASU Delta Zeta Sigma and Watauga High School Honor Society have taken the Feinstein Challenge and have raised nearly $10,000.

There’s still time to join them! Take the Feinstein Challenge by donating online at www.hospitalityhouseofboone.org; mailing a check (noting Feinstein Challenge in memo line) to Hospitality House PO Box 309 Boone NC 28607 or bringing your cash, check or food (each item counts as $1) by the Hospitality House at 338 Brook Hollow Rd Boone NC.

All donations (cash, check, pledge, stock or food) made to Hospitality House by April 30th that mention the Feinstein Challenge will be counted.
