‘Live After Five’ Newland Riverwalk Concert to Benefit Building Efforts of Avery County Habitat for Humanity

July 26, 2012. The Newland Riverwalk Concert will be hosted by Cannon Hospital’s Habitat for Humanity Committee as a “Live After Five” event this Friday, July 27 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event will benefit the house building efforts of Avery County Habitat for Humanity.

Entertaining the crowd will be The Mountain Laurels of Boone, “a band of women on strings, with a repertoire including an eclectic hybrid blend of Celtic, old English, folk, renaissance and chamber music,” according to the band’s website. 

The concert is free, but there will be hamburgers, hot dogs with all the fixings and your choice of strawberry or peach shortcakes available for sale at the event.

Please bring a chair or blanket. There is no entry fee.
