Jones House to Host David Childers, Tim Marsh & Toma Fuller as Part of Summer Concert Series

July 12, 2013. On July 12, the Jones House Community and Cultural Center brings David Childers and Tim Marsh & Toma Fuller to Boone as part of its summer concert series. The show starts at 5 p.m. with Tim Marsh & Toma Fuller, filling in for the New River Boys, scheduled to play first.  David Childers is scheduled to take the stage at 6 p.m.  The show is described as a singer and songwriter showcase.

concertsDavid Childers is a wold-renowned singer and songwriter who has been performing since the 1960s throughout North Carolina. He is collaborating with Avett Brothers bassist, Bob Crawford, on a roots rock band called Overmountain Men, named after the band of soldiers from Western North Carolina during the American Revolution.

Tim Marsh and Toma Fuller have collaborated before in a band called Wiseapple, a bluegrass and roots rock band. Tim Marsh is based in Asheville, North Carolina and is an alumnus of Appalachian State University. He has played a variety of genres since he was young and has performed in several bands throughout his career, opening for such acts as Sam Bush, Del McCoury and Bambu Station. 

The Jones House Concert Series takes place during the summer months each year.  Starting on June 7 and continuing through Sept. 20, the Jones House hosts concerts at 5 p.m. every Friday evening.

The concert series is presented by the Town of Boone and sponsored by the Downtown Boone Development Association, Mast General Store, Footsloggers, M-prints, Stick Boy and Melanie’s Food Fantasy. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to the event, as well as well-behaved dogs on a leash. This family friendly event is completely free and open to the community. 

Every Thursday at 7:30 p.m., the Jones House hosts an open mic music jam that is open to musicians of all skill levels.  Admission is always free, and well behaved pets and picnics are encouraged during the outside performances.
