Cohen is a founding member of the New Lost City Ramblers and has been performing, recording, documenting, and producing traditional music for more than 50 years.

The Down Hill Strugglers are helping lead the current folk music craze in New York City, and member Eli Smith helps organize folk festivals and concerts, including The Brooklyn Folk Festival and the Washington Square Park Folk Festival.  The band recently released their 2nd album, entitled Show Me the Way to Go Home, and they have a song featured on the soundtrack to the new Coen Brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis.

“Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton has one of the greatest repertoires of traditional and early American popular music since Uncle Dave Macon,” says Freed.  “He can play piano like Fats Waller, guitar like Willie Walker, and banjo like Wade Ward – and those are just the ‘W’s'”
