Feb. 28, 2014. It’s not too late to snag your tickets for the upcoming Craig Robinson musical comedy show on March 2, sponsored by the Appalachian Popular Programming Society (A.P.P.S.).
Whether Robinson shows up with just his keyboard or also with his seven-man band, the clubs are packed to the brims with raucous laughter in response to the musical comedy on display.
Best known for his role as Darryl Philbin on “The Office,” and for comedy movie roles in “Pineapple Express,” “Hot Tub Time Machine” and “This is the End,” Robinson will perform a comedy and musical showcase at the Holmes Convocation Center on the campus of Appalachian State University.
“Our comedy shows almost always sell out,” said Randy Kelly, program advisor for A.P.P.S.
“All of our comedy acts have always done extremely well here. The weather has slowed the ticket sales, but now that the bad weather is behind us I fully expect this show to sell out.”
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the fun will officially start at 8 p.m.
Currently, tickets are $12 for students in advance and $16 for the general public and for students on the day of the show. According to the ASU Box office located at the information desk at the Plemmons Student Union, tickets are still available for purchase.
Reserved seat tickets are available at the Holmes Convocation Center box office at 828-262-6603, online through ticketreturn.com and at the Plemmons Student Union ticket office at 828-262-3030.
“Craig Robinson is a perfect show for us,” Kelly said. “As soon as you mention ‘The Office’ or ‘This is the End’ they recognize him if they don’t immediately recognize his name. He is bringing his band ‘The Nasty Delicious’ and it’s is going to be a really fun night.”
